The 1st day
08:30 – Gathering of all group members and departure from Uzhgorod.
The first historical memories about his city date back form the 9th century, the time when Hungarian tribes crossed Carpathian mountain. Thus, Mukachevo is considered as one of the oldest Ukrainian cities. Except of its long history, Mukachevo is also famous because of old paved streets, city Hall, and a great castle. The castle Palanok is probably the greatest “storehouse” of legends and myths because it played a huge role in the defense of many kingdoms and empires.
This small village is famous because of two things. The first one is its location and ethnic minorities living here.
The thing is that it is very close to the Hungarian border and the majority of people living here are Hungarians, as well. That’s why we call it the Hungarian corner of Ukraine where everybody can experience the Hungarian cuisine and spirit without crossing the border.
And, the second thing that makes Kosino special is a geothermal resort based on unique mineral water that has analogues only in New Zealand. Here, you can swim in the Ukrainian biggest Jacuzzi fountain with “beer, wine, palinka, and coffee”.
Berehovo (wine degustation)
The degustation of homemade wine will take a place in old Berehovo’s wine cellar that is 300+ years old. According to a legend, Turkish captives built the cellar deep in a rock after the Turkish-Austrian war. The restored wine cellar is one of the few cellars in Berehovo that were preserved from the 17th century. They make vintage wines according to traditional technologies from the “local” grape varieties such as Müller-Thurgau, Zengo, Limberher, Zweigelt, Muscat Ottonel, Cuvée and others. In addition, you will learn about the technology of wine production.
The 2nd day
09:30 – Breakfast, check-out from the hotel and departure from Uzhgorod
The road to Sinevir lake goes through two picturesque mountain passes and three mountain valleys. Winter breath on meadows and footprints of autumn in valleys. You can see such romantic landscapes on the way to Sinevir, the biggest mountain lake of Ukraine.
Locals call it the “see eye” because of a small island in middle of the round lake. One of the seven Ukrainian natural wonders is situated in Gorgans, high and beautiful mountain massive in Carpathians. We would strongly suggest you to prepare a good camera for having unique pictures.
Rehabilitation center of brown bears
A very rare possibility to be a guest of the “king” of forests in its almost natural environment. The center was built to protect this indigenous spice and adapt them back to the original habitat.
Lunch in the restaurant “Hutsulochka”
The restaurant offers dishes of the ethnic community of Hutsuls that live in the highest mountains of Ukraine.
The village of 10 museums and 20 monuments. Most of Ukrainians know this village for its preserved architecture and cultural heritage. Just after crossing the road, you will transfer from Czechoslovakian period into the Soviet one, etc. you will see also houses that were built in 19th century, in which local people still live. In addition, you will see a part of Arpad line, a defense line built by Nazi against Red Army that was proclaimed as the strongest range of fortification constructions ever.
Departure from the Volovets train station or coming back to Uzhgorod
The end of unforgettable and amazing trip. We wish you to have a nice continuation of your trip. And, hope you will come back to visit us 🙂
